Mallorie's (*and her siblings') first "real" snow!

Tamara (http://www.carepages.com/carepages/ConnerLemus) emailed me a little bit ago; apparently, our kiddos were feeding about the same time of night, and she wrote this:

I just wanted to let you know.....IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is beautiful. I got up to warm a bottle, and happened to glance outside the window by the sink in the kitchen. Everything is white and beautiful. I gave conner his bottle, and put on my shoes and grabbed the camera.

It is snowing big, soft, white flakes, and it is beautiful!! I took load of pics, which I'll post on his carepage tomorrow. I even put a paper plate outside to catch some for alyssa. I'll get up in a few hours and put it in the freezer. I ALMOST woke her, but figured that would be irresponsible parenting, since she does go to school tomorrow. If I had, I would have had to do a Not Me Monday, also.

And Chona (Mal's nurse tonight) gave me a similar story, and said that people are outside throwing mini-snowballs at each other. So I did what any responsible parent would do. I woke up Hannah and sent her outside to see what it looks like outside the hospital, and called John so he could wake up the other kids. He's no more responsible than I am (meaning he's WAY better at being impulsive, making him a great dad!), so the next thing I know, I'm getting a call from Hannah (outside), letting me know Daddy and the other kids are on their way to the hospital so they can go outside and have a snowball fight and make snow angels. They are at an all-night pharmacy, buying batteries for the camera!

See why I love him? He has never quite lost that child inside, and the kids are better off for that.

Now he'd better get them back into bed before we have more kiddoes with pneumonia!! Chona says we'll have to open a suite!

I love it, in the case you don't have to worry about school day, right! Here i sit wondering are we even having school. I won't let mine go on the roads. Now, if these were flood waters, then I'd day get up and go! You are going to be one tired momma. Hoping you can sleep late.

Wow Connie, what a treat for you and the kids to have this fun this morning. I say "wake em up" and enjoy the moment that they will remember for the rest of their lives. I love that John did this and that he still has the "child" inside. Corky is the same way and it is so much fun to see him let it out.
I just love that picture of the kids all bundled up, priceless.
Hey!!! I just noticed my name in your sidebar and I feel like I belong somewhere now. I love it just as it is, don't change it.:) You are the one who gave me the final push to get started and I am glad you did. I love you for it.
Oh and I just read the post below this one just now. Hooray for the new button that is going to make such a difference for Mallorie and for you. I am excited for you and anything that makes taking care of your baby easier!!!

Love you much, Laurie
PS. So you get out today for sure?
Praying for perfect results.

I don't know where you live but I think I see palm trees! I remember the first time I saw a palm tree...I think I was just as excited as you are about snow :) We live in Canada so snow is taken a little more for granted. It is beautiful though. Ours came late his year and after everything looking dead and brown and the tempuratures being consistently sub freezing I was ready for some snow to go along with it. If it has to be freezing cold it may as well look pretty. Enjoy your taste of snow!
